Michael McDonald and George Thorogood & the Destroyers and Dolly Parton were the highlights of a long list of artists inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville last week.
Dweezil Zappa inducted George Thorogood & the Destroyers, then jumped onstage to perform “Move It on Over” before the band rocked “Who Do You Love” and “Bad to the Bone.” Vince Gill introduced Michael McDonald, calling him “maybe the most identifiable voice,” before McDonald joined fellow honorees and presenters for an all‑star version of his Doobie Brothers classic “Takin’ It to the Streets.”
Late session great Nicky Hopkins was honored for his work with The Who, Beatles, Kinks, and Rolling Stones, with Peter Frampton calling him “a piano player’s piano player.” Vince Gill followed with Joe Cocker’s “You Are So Beautiful.” Bernie Leadon honored producer John Boylan, while the Hall’s Class of 2026 was rounded out by Dan Huff, Dolly Parton, Leland Sklar, and Keith Urban. That’s quite a lineup.
