John Mellencamp is letting his Indiana fans get the first look at the “Dancing Words Tour The Greatest Hits” before it officially launches Friday in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer has announced a free open rehearsal this evening at the Ford Center in Evansville, Indiana.
Admission is free for local residents who bring a nonperishable food item for the Evansville Rescue Mission. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, with doors opening at 4:45 p.m. Donation items can be dropped off at Rescue Mission vehicles parked along Main Street in Evansville.
The special preview comes ahead of Mellencamp's first amphitheater tour in 17 years. The Icon Award winner at our iHeartRadio Music Awards will play a 19-show run starting this Friday July 10th in Grand Rapids through August 12th in Mountain View, California, including a stop at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, outside Houston, on August 6th. Mellencamp is promising fans a two-and-a-half-hour set packed with his biggest hits.
