8th Graders Charged With Planning Mass School Shooting

Two Florida teens have been charged with conspiracy to commit a mass shooting at their middle school. Investigators say the 13- and 14-year-old were inspired by the Columbine shooters, and that they studied that massacre in detail, as well as attempted to buy guns online. The arrests happened after an 8th grade teacher was tipped off by a student that one of the boys had a gun in his backpack. When searched, no gun was found, but a map of the school with markings on surveillance cameras was.
