Although Sting pretty much steers clear of U.S. politics, preferring to focus his time and energy on specific issues, he admitted that he's concerned with the direction President Trump has taken. Sting is currently out on the road in North America, touring in support of his recent Top 10 album, 57th & 9th.
Sting voiced his concerns while comparing Donald Trump to his predecessor, Barack Obama: ["Y'know, my strategy is always to try and be optimistic. But I. . . y'know, everything I hear seems like the first act of a Shakespearean play that you (laughs) know is going to be a tragedy (laughs). I don't know. It's such an. . . imponderable. I watched Obama's final words in Chicago and was very moved by them and inspired by them -- and then I watched a press conference that I thought was a fiasco."
