The closing of Toys R Us is making Americans look at the retail landscape and what stores could become extinct next.
Yesterday, Claire’s, the once trendy teen apparel and accessory store, announced it was closing up shop too. It blamed the dying malls across the country, which makes sense since most of its business is done there.
Who’s next? Here are some possibilities.
- Neiman Marcus. They may be too debt heavy to float.
- PetSmart. Even the purchase of chewy.com may not help
- Sears. They've been in trouble for years.
