ROBERTA FLACK: Briefly hospitalized on Friday night
Roberta Flack was briefly hospitalized in New York after falling ill at a Friday night gala.
The voice of such classic soul ballads as "Where Is the Love," "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" and "Killing Me Softly With His Song" was at the Apollo Theater in Harlem to be honored by the Jazz Foundation of America. But she felt ill before receiving the award and was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance.
Now 81, Flack has struggled with her health since she suffered a stroke several years ago. (People)

JON BON JOVI: Hall of Fame rocker is quite the wine enthusiast
Jon Bon Jovi says while wine has long been his "beverage of choice," he never expected to be in the wine business.
Speaking to Wine Enthusiast magazine, the new Rock and Roll Hall of Famer compares wine-making to making records:
"There’s the instrumentation — when I’m in the studio mixing, the difference between turning something up one dB [decibel] or not could change the entire feel of the record. So as we got closer and closer to the blend, and then [his winemaking partner] said nope, wait just a second, literally took an eyedropper and it was a couple more drops of this and a couple more drops of that, that was the nuance that [was like] when I’m in the studio, putting a little more high-end on the cymbals. And that’s when we all walk away, when you say, There’s the record. There was the one."
Jon isn't just in the wine business for profit, adding, "It’s really all I drink. I don’t drink any hard alcohol." And almost never a beer, "Unless you’re at a Yankees game eating a hot dog… so it’s very rare. I’m a wine enthusiast."
Bon Jovi calls his wine Hampton Water. It sells for about $20 a bottle.
