Elton John's show Friday at the Rochford Winery just outside Melbourne, Australia was pummeled by hail and rain.Australia can’t seem to get a break from extreme weather.
After a high temperature of 111 – Sir Elton took the stage exclaiming, "[Bleep] it's hot. Thank you for buying a ticket to the show. We love doing it, even though it’s hot." He managed to get through an hour-and-40-minutes before a torrential downpour overtook the area seemingly on cue following imagery of thunder and lightning as a backdrop to "Funeral For a Friend."
As hail began to fall and the stage beginning to flood, damaging instruments, Elton was escorted off the stage as promoter Michael Chugg came out to say, “We’ve been told it's dangerous to try and play on… So, we are not going to be able to go on… We’re still in the country until March 7th so somehow we’ll work out how to come back and do it again…”
Elton's Saturday had no weather issues and went on as planned. Up next is Tuesday in Dunedin, New Zealand.
