GG Townson, the granddaughter of the late Ron Townson of The Fifth Dimension is starring as one half of the duo Salt-N-Pepa in a new Lifetime movie debuting Saturday night.
GG is a regular on the TV series All American on the CW.She also appeared on In the Cut on Bounce TV.
Salt-N-Pepa hit it big in the late 80’s and early 90’s.
GG is excited about her role in Salt-N-Pepa. She talked about her role:
"Two girls who met in community college, and just by chance, did a music project. Had no idea that it was going to form into the amazing popular group that it turned into. They were just, doing something for fun. You see them on the rise of their career, but you will see these women go from girls to mothers and the trials and tribulations that they faced on their way to to the top."
GG talked about what made Salt-N-Pepa important artists:"I felt like this was a must-see because of the waves that the made in the industry. They were two girls that came into a male dominated sport and killed it. They were women that would not back down. They used their platform for good. They were not only putting out catchy and great music, but they also messages behind and were all about uplifting and seeing other women win."
