The Monkees are preparing to hit this road for a farewell tour this fall.
Surviving Monkees Micky Dolenz and Michael Nesmith just announced farewell tour shows beginning September 11th in Seattle. Tickets will go on sale this Friday for what they’re calling "a magical night of music... all the hits, deep cuts and fan favorites."
The Monkees television series debuted on NBC back in September, 1966.The show’s debut coincided with the release of their first smash “Last Train To Clarksville.” That song would go on to reach #1 later that fall.
What followed was a two-year run of big radio hits, TV and live shows that earned The Monkees a place as one of the most popular acts of all-time. We lost Davy Jones to a heart attack in 2012 and Peter Tork passed away in 2019 after a cancer battle.
