Carole King is thrilled after the announcement of her second induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Carole tweeted, “I wanted to be a songwriter so I could meet all the great artists and they would know who I was. I thought being inducted into the @rockhall as a songwriter with Gerry Goffin was the pinnacle. Until now. Thank you for ALSO inducting me as an artist. And to my fans always.”
Carole said in an interview with ‘Rolling Stone, “"There’s no ‘long overdue’ about it. I feel like I’ve had an amazing life and an amazing career and I’m just grateful. "Carole also added she was a little surprised.
She also said, "There were so many worthy nominees. I looked over the list and was like, 'Well, I’m already in as a songwriter. I’ll be OK if I don’t get in. There are so many other people. They should get in.' And here I am...Also, I want to make sure I acknowledge my fans... I’m really, really grateful for them."
Carole and ex-husband Gerry Goffin were inducted (as songwriters) back in 1990 in the non-performer category.
