Journey guitarist and founder Neal Schon expressed his gratitude to his bandmates after their first two shows in more than 18 months in Chicago last weekend.
Neil says, "Want to thank all my brothers for working so hard in rehearsals preparing for both the shows... First was nearly a three-hour show at The Aragon Ballroom, then the 31st headlining Lollapalooza.”
He adds, "Great times ahead friends. We got to open up and jam a bit at Lollapalooza and the new generation crowd was diggin' it. This excites me that they are very open minded musically..."
Journey will continue their summer dates with a show in Atlantic City on August 20th, followed by two shows in New York’s Central Park on August 1st at ‘We Love NYC: The Homecoming Concert’ with Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Santana, Patti Smith and several others,
Afterwards, they’ll board a helicopter for and head to the Tunnel 2 Towers Never Forget Concert to support victims of 9/11, first responders and injured veterans as we approach the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. They’ll be joined by Steve Miller, John Fogerty and Ann Wilson.
