Ed Sheeran and Elton John have teamed up on a new Christmas single.Sheeran revealed the news during a Dutch radio interview this week.
Sheeran told Dutch radio station NPO Radio 2 that Elton came up with the idea of teaming up last year after receiving news about his 1973 classic "Step Into Christmas." Sheeran said, "Elton rang me on Christmas Day to say Merry Christmas. Elton rings me almost every single day. He said, ‘Step Into Christmas is number-six in the charts! I want to do another Christmas song -- will you do it with me?'"
Sheeran later said that he initially "didn’t feel like [the song] suited me," but he later changed his mind. "You don’t know if you’ll still be there tomorrow, everything can change overnight. I may not be here tomorrow. Why shouldn’t I grab this opportunity?"
Sheeran didn’t tell fans the name of the song and it wasn’t announced as part of Elton’s upcoming ‘Lockdown Sessions’ release on October 22nd.We’ll let you know more about the Christmas song when we find out.Stay tuned.
