An official bio-pic covering the life of the late Who drummer Keith Moon is finally going forward. Roger Daltrey, who has led the project, is an executive producer along with Pete Townshend. Daltrey went on record in 2018 saying there’s only one thing the actor who portrays Moon needs.
Daltrey said, "It’s gonna be very, very dependent on the actor and the actor’s eyes. Because you’ve got to cast it completely from the eyes because Moon had extraordinary eyes.”
The project is tentatively titled ‘The Real Me,’ after the classic from Quadrophenia. Filming is expected to begin in June with Paul Whittington from ‘The Crown’ and ‘White House Farm’ as director. Keith Moon died of an accidental drug overdose at age 32 back in 1978.
