Queen+Adam Lambert will take time off the road on Saturday to open ‘Platinum Party at the Palace’, a two-and-a-half hour all-star concert near Buckingham Palace in London.
The event will celebrate Elizabeth the Second's 70 years on the throne as Queen of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth districts.
Brian May says, “20 years after playing the Queen’s glorious Golden Jubilee, we’re very happy to be invited again. Then there was a moment when I wondered…after [playing on the] Buckingham Palace roof [then] where can you go? Well…you will see!!!”
Besides Queen, the show will also feature Elton John (via video), Duran Duran, Rod Stewart, George Ezra, Nile Rodgers, Alicia Keys, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Diana Ross, who will close out the show.
Back in 2002, Brian May and Roger Taylor, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Ozzy Osbourne, Eric Clapton, Bryan Adams, Joe Cocker, Phil Collins, Ray Davies, Rod Stewart, Steve Winwood, Brian Wilson and other artists performed at the Queen's Golden Jubilee, also staged in the backyard of Buckingham Palace.
