Mick Fleetwood a Rolling Stone?

Mick Fleetwood recently said he's long dreamed of playing drums for The Rolling Stones.

Fleetwood told Classic Rock magazine, “The Stones really are my favorite band. My dream was always that Charlie Watts got the flu, and I get to save the day and play with the Stones for a week. But the call never came...”

He added,"I used to go down and see The Rolling Stones at Eel Pie Island [in South London] when I didn’t know them at all. [My band at the time, The Cheynes] went on tour with them in 1964. And to this day Keith Richards is one of the three people who call me Michael; John McVie and [my former brother-in-law] Eric Clapton are the others."

Fleetwood is not alone in his desire to drum for another band. Phil Collins once said he would have left Genesis for the opportunity to play with The Who, and he was pretty close to doing just that following the death of Keith Moon in 1978.
