Joni Mitchell has hopes she’ll be returning to the studio to record new music, according to ex-husband Larry Klein.
This news comes seven years after the legendary singer-songwriter suffered a brain aneurysm which left her unable to talk or talk for quite some time.
Things have been better for Joni lately. She surprised fans by sharing the stage with Brandie Carlile at the Newport Folk Festival in July. Mitchell has since revealed she’s been re-teaching herself how to play the guitar using tutorials online. She said, “I’m learning. I’m looking at videos on the net to see where I put my fingers.” Joni added, “It’s amazing what an aneurysm knocks out.”
Ex-husband Larry Klein said, “She’s been working to regain all sorts of things, and she’s been wanting to sing again, she just hadn’t gotten to the point where she had the confidence to go into the studio.” Klein says. Klein was asked if he thought Mitchell would ever record new music again. He said, “I wouldn’t be surprised if she records new music. She’s a hard worker.”
