John Mellencamp has just announced a winter and spring theater tour. The ‘Live and In Person 2023’ tour starts on February 5th and 6th in John’s hometown of Bloomington, Indiana and runs through June 24th in South Bend, Indiana with multiple nights in several cities.
The tour is sponsored by Turner Classic Movies, which marks the first time Mellencamp will have a tour partner. Last year, his documentary, The Good Samaritan Tour 2000, premiered TCM.
Mellencamp talked about his touring partnership with TCM.He said, "I discovered TCM when it first came out, you know. And I've learned so much about movies and literature. Some of the mist beautiful books and beautiful plays have been turned into movies. So you watch the movie and you go, 'Oh, I wonder if the book is as good as that.' And of course the book's always better. Was the play better? So, you know, I like being involved in the arts."
