Back in June, Queen's Roger Taylor and Brian May said they found "Face it Alone," a previously unreleased song with Freddie Mercury.
Roger and Brian talked about the song “Face It Alone”:
Roger: "We did find a little gem from Freddie that we’d kind of forgotten about and it’s wonderful actually. It was real discovery. It’s from The Miracle sessions and I think it's gonna be kind of out in September."
Brian: “It was kind of hiding in plain sight. We looked at it many times and thought, 'Oh no, we can’t really rescue that.' But in fact, we went in there again and our wonderful engineering team went, 'Okay, we can do this and this.' It’s like kind of stitching bits together. But it’s beautiful. It's beautiful. It’s a very touching piece.”
Roger: "It's a very passionate piece."
The song will be released this Thursday. Queen have been teasing it with billboards around the world. Queen tweeted: "Queen Fans! Have you seen the news? Keep your eyes peeled & share your photos of where you’ve seen our Billboards using #FaceItAlone.”
A 15-second preview of the song was also shared with Mercury singing, “In the end, in the end, you have to face it alone.”
This will be the first new Queen song with Mercury since “There Must Be More to Life Than This,” a duet he did with Michael Jackson which was released back in 2014.
