80’s star Taylor Dayne has revealed she is battling colon cancer detected during a routine checkup back in July.
Taylor, who is best known for 80’s hits like "Tell It To My Heart," revealed her diagnosis during a recent interview on Good Morning America. She said, “All I could do is think ‘OK, five months ago, I know there was nothing. So this is early detection.'"
The 60-year-old singer said she went through surgery to remove 10 inches of her colon shortly after the diagnosis, and is undergoing treatments. She added, “When you’re really sick, you don’t have the energy, you’re really relying on your champions around you, your soldiers, your people. Find the doctor that will tell you the truth. Be a warrior for yourself.”
Taylor’s family has always been a very important part of her life. She recently talked about her son and daughter, saying, "My one son is drawn to real estate and stocks. He really loves to trade. He's already trading online. My daughter has the ability to be a hell of an actress, like one of the tops. So I hope they pursue it with same type of passion and the... commitment that I know it takes to do that with your dreams. And it takes a lot of effort; it's a lot of hard work. But, with anything, that the payoff is your heart and soul is in it and everybody wins."
