The very first novel from Susanna Hoffs of The Bangles will be headed to theaters.
This Bird Has Flown will be published next April 4th, and producers Liza Chasin and Bruna Papandrea have obtained the film rights and will make it for Universal Pictures.
Hoffs said in a statement, "As I was writing This Bird Has Flown, songs provided the score; I visualized the action and unfolding dialogue as if I were watching a movie spring to life in my head. Getting to adapt the book for the screen is the cherry on top of this joyous experience."
This Bird Has Flown takes place inside the music industry and focuses on Jane Start, a woman in her 30s who had a huge hit in her 20s but is now forced to live in her parents' house.
