INXS fans have just launched a Change.org petition to get the Australian band on the ballot for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction next year.
The fans are working to get 15,000 signatures in hopes of securing a spot on the Rock Hall's annual list of nominees. As of last Wednesday afternoon, organizers were within 5000 signatures of that goal. They've also launched the website InductINXS.com with a link to the petition, along with news and video clips of some of the band's accomplishments.
Currently, the Australian contingent in the Rock Hall consists of AC/DC, The Bee Gees and Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, who was actually born in Melbourne, but emigrated to the U.S. when he was young.
