A couple days after ending the final North American leg of his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour in Los Angeles at Dodger Stadium, Elton John performed behind a grand piano outside on New York's Fifth Avenue for a private show to help unveil Saks Fifth Avenue's Christmas windows.
Sir Elton has collaborated with the retailer for a line of 389 Elton-curated products ranging in price from $25 for a Christmas ornament to over $10,000 for a watch.
Elton says, “There are so many ways I enjoy expressing creativity — through my music, my fashion...and my gift-giving! I’m inspired by all the creativity we saw in the designers we partnered with for this collection. Better yet, they’re helping fuel the other great passion in my life, Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Rocket Fund, which helps provide care to those who need it most.”
In return, Saks is donating a million dollars to the Foundation, which Elton said, "will help turbo charge our mission to end AIDS."
After a brief speech, Elton and his family unveiled the windows and then he performed his classic "Your Song."
