Huey Lewis has some advice for would-be singers

Huey Lewis has some advice for anyone who wants to be professional singer like him -- use the lower part of your vocal range.

Huey took to Instagram and explained, "Back in the day, we sang at the top of our range all the time, which is really tiring. Singers do that because in rock and roll and pop music people want to be urgent and very expressive. But there are ways to do that without screaming. You learn how to sing in a lower range and still be expressive."

Huey Lewis and the News haven't performed any since January, 2018, when he was diagnosed with Ménière's Disease, which affects the inner ear. His hearing is permanently damaged. Coming up on April 22nd, he'll make a solo appearance -- as a judge at the Hall Cabernet Cook-Off in St. Helena, California.
