Ringo Starr has new music coming, including a country album

Ringo Starr has announced three more EPs for his fans. The first one is ready to go, and second one being put together by songwriter and producer Linda Perry.

Ringo commented on working with Linda Perry on the upcoming EP. He said, "She gave me two songs in the last two EPs. We got to know each other and I love her and she's just great. And so she said, 'Oh Ringo, let me do it.' And I said, 'Okay, you do it.' So, the only thing I'll be doing on that EP is playing drums and singing."

The third EP is currently in the planning stages with producer T Bone Burnett. Ringo talked about that EP, which will have a real country flavor to it. Ringo said, "He [Burnett] sent me, I promise you, one of the most beautiful country songs I've heard in a long time. It's very old school country, it's beautiful. So I thought, 'Hey, I'm gonna make a country EP.'"

Ringo also said that he won't record the country one until next year sometime because of his tour this year with the All Starr Band.

Country fans will recall that Ringo sang lead on The Beatles' cover of "Act Naturally," which was originally recorded by the late country music icon Buck Owens, and his second album, 1970's Beaucoups of Blues, was a collection of country songs.
