Rod Stewart has decided not to sell his music catalog. He was negotiating with Hipgnosis Songs, but decided against the deal.
He said, “This catalog represents my life’s work. And it became abundantly clear after much time and due diligence that this was not the right company to manage my song catalog, career or legacy.”
The catalog contains not only Rod’s solo work, but also his recordings with The Faces and the Jeff Beck Group.
Hipgnosis fully or partly owns the catalogs and/or publishing rights for Neil Young, Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie, Chrissie Hynde, Blondie, Justin Timberlake, producer Bob Rock, producer-record executive Jimmy Iovine, Journey, Nikki Sixx, Soundgarden‘s Chris Cornell, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Barry Manilow and Taylor Swift.
