Prince and the New Power Generation's album ‘Diamonds and Pearls’ from 1991 will be reissued on October 27th.
The reissue will be featured on these formats:
- Super Deluxe Edition - 7 CDs and Blu-ray, 12 LPs and Blu-ray, or audio-only download and streaming.
- Deluxe Edition - 2 CDs, 4 LPs in 180g vinyl
- Remastered album 1 CD or 2 LPs, download and streaming.
The Super Deluxe Edition features has a newly remastered version of the album, 15 of the remixes and B-sides plus 33 previously unheard studio songs from the Prince vault, with alternate versions of album tracks, along with songs Prince gave to other artists and tracks recorded while on the road in 1990. There's also previously a unreleased concert recorded at Prince's Glam Slam club in Minneapolis on January 11th, 1992.
Two previously unreleased songs have been released from the box set -- "Alice Through the Looking Glass" and an early mix of "Insatiable." Both are on YouTube.
Diamonds and Pearls was originally released on October 1st, 1991 and features Prince's last number-one hit, "Cream," along with the Top 10 title track and two other Top 40 hits -- "Gett Off" and "Money Don't Matter 2 Night."
