The Eagles' ‘Long Goodbye Tour’ with special guest Steely Dan has faced some unexpected changes due to the health issues of Steely Dan's Donald Fagen. The legendary singer and songwriter has been absent from the tour since September 20th, when he was briefly hospitalized for an undisclosed reason. Don Henley said that some members of the Eagles crew tested positive for COVID, but it is not clear if Fagen's condition is related to that.
As a result, the Eagles have had to find some replacement acts to fill in for Steely Dan on some of the tour dates. The list of fill-ins includes Steve Miller, Sheryl Crow and Vince Gill, who is also a member of the Eagles. The latest addition to the list is The Tedeschi Trucks Band, a 12-piece blues-rock ensemble led by husband-and-wife duo Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi.
The Eagles' Long Goodbye Tour is expected to run until July 2024, with stops in North America, Europe and Australia. The tour features the band's classic hits as well as songs from their latest album Long Road Out of Eden, which was released in 2007. The tour also marks the first time that the Eagles have performed live since the death of their co-founder and guitarist Glenn Frey in 2016.
