CBS has announced a rebroadcast of "Billy Joel: The 100th – Live at Madison Square Garden" following a broadcast mishap that left some fans and viewers wondering what was going on. The original airing of the special was unexpectedly cut short during the finale of "Piano Man."
The interruption was attributed to a network programming timing error that caused the special to end approximately two minutes early in the Eastern and Central Time Zones. In a statement, CBS apologized to Billy Joel, his fans, affiliated stations, and viewers for the disruption during the last song. The network acknowledged the inconvenience and, in response to the overwhelming demand from Joel's fans, confirmed that the special would be aired again in its entirety on April 19th at 8 pm (Central).
