‘Far Out’ magazine has recently compiled a list of the "10 best produced classic rock albums," featuring some expected favorites and a few surprising entries.
Topping the list is Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours", an album that has left an indelible mark on the world of music. Tim Coffman, the author of the article, praises the band for some of the greatest arrangements of their career on their second outing with the lineup that included Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. Despite the turmoil behind the scenes, the band managed to produce a record that stands out for its clean sound and timeless appeal.
Other albums include: The Beatles' "Abbey Road", The Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds", and Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon". Also included are Steely Dan's "Aja", Nirvana's "Nevermind", and Metallica's "The Black Album", which is described as feeling closer to hearing the band live in a concert setting. The list also features Guns N' Roses' "Appetite for Destruction", and Tom Petty's "Wildflowers.”
Rounding off the list is "Boston", an album that showcases Tom Scholz's prowess as a producer first and a guitarist second.
