Peter Frampton reminisces with Bill Wyman

Peter Frampton has been busy in his homeland, England, filming for his upcoming documentary. Recently, he had a nostalgic reunion with Bill Wyman, the former Rolling Stones bassist. Wyman, who once produced and managed one of Frampton's first bands, shared some memorable moments with him.

Frampton fondly recalls his first recording session, which took place 60 years ago. "It's been 60 years since I had the first recording session with Glyn Johns engineering and Bill Wyman producing," he reminisces. At the tender age of 13, he was part of a semi-pro band, The Preachers, and was blissfully unaware of the significance of working with such an esteemed team. Wyman wanted to produce the band, and Johns, who was the Stones' engineer at the time, was on board.

Despite his early start in the music industry, Frampton's education was not compromised. His parents, initially concerned about his night-time performances, were reassured by his adult bandmate, Alex Brown. Brown, accompanied by his son, met with Frampton's parents to convince them of the band members' responsibility. Their efforts were successful, and Frampton's parents gave their approval.

Frampton's storied career will receive another feather in its cap when he joins Wyman in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on October 19th in Cleveland. Wyman was previously inducted as a member of the Stones in 1989.
