Peter Frampton looks back and looks forward

In September, Peter Frampton embarked on The Positively Thankful Tour, a two-week journey dedicated to expressing his gratitude to fans for their unwavering support over the decades, which played a crucial role in his induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Reflecting on the tour, Frampton shared his amazement at the phenomenal crowds and their enthusiasm. He noted that the shows were extensive, lasting two-and-a-half hours, ensuring that no stone was left unturned. Frampton hinted at the possibility of another tour, potentially in late spring, if his health permits.

Frampton is also currently working on a new album with his son Julian. Peter emphasized the meticulous nature of this project, explaining that each new song raises the bar for the next, making the process slower but ensuring high quality. Frampton acknowledged that this might be his last album, which adds to the pressure of making it exceptionally good. He is taking his time with the project, with no rush to release it, aiming for it to be better than ever.

Frampton’s uncertainty about future tours and the potential finality of his upcoming album are influenced by his diagnosis of Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM) over five years ago. This progressive muscle disorder causes muscle inflammation, weakness, and atrophy, impacting his ability to perform and tour.
