Ringo Starr is back

Ringo Starr has made a return to country music with his new album, ‘Look Up,’ which is out today. This marks his first album in six years and a return to his love for country music, a genre he explored in his 1970 album, ‘Beaucoups of Blues.’ The new album, co-produced by the legendary T-Bone Burnett, features songs written or co-written by Burnett, who played a pivotal role in getting the project off the ground.

Ringo was inspired to create Look Up after Burnett sent him an old-school country song. Initially, Ringo planned to release an EP, as he has been doing since 2021, with five EPs to his name. However, the quality of the material and his passion for the genre led him to expand the project into a full album. Look Up includes collaborations with notable artists such as Alison Krauss, Billy Strings, Larkin Poe, Lucius, and Molly Tuttle.

To celebrate the album's release, Ringo will perform two shows at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium next week. Plus, independent record stores in 35 states are hosting listening parties this weekend, thanks to the efforts of Record Store Day organizers. Fans can look forward to the release of the video for the title track, featuring Molly Tuttle, along with previously released tracks "Time on My Hands" and "Thankful" featuring Krauss.
