Paul McCartney delighted fans with a surprise club show on Tuesday night at the Bowery Ballroom in New York. The intimate venue, which holds just under 600 people, was the perfect setting for the music legend. McCartney is in town for Saturday Night Live's 50th anniversary special on Sunday, and he treated the lucky audience to a condensed 22-song set from his tour last year, all packed into an electrifying 90 minutes.
Tickets for the show went on sale at noon at the Bowery box office and were snapped up in just 30 minutes. Priced at $50 each, there was a strict one ticket per person limit, ensuring that as many fans as possible had a chance to see the performance. There's already buzz about a potential second show today, as the Bowery has moved its originally scheduled show to nearby Irving Plaza and canceled Thursday’s show to accommodate the possibility.
This isn't the first time McCartney has surprised New York fans. His last impromptu performance in the city was in 2018, where he played in front of 300 people at Grand Central Station to promote his album Egypt Station.
