John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band are making a triumphant return with their first studio album in 36 years. The new album, titled Sound of Waves, marks a significant milestone for the band, whose last album of original material was the Eddie and the Cruisers 2: Eddie Lives Soundtrack back in 1989.
It was none other than Bruce Springsteen who convinced John Cafferty to write new songs for this album. Springsteen, a longtime friend of Cafferty, encouraged him to tap into his creative spirit and produce fresh material. This inspiration led to the creation of Sound of Waves, which promises to deliver the band's signature sound with a modern twist. One of the album tracks, "Day in the Sun," already has a live video available on YouTube, giving fans a taste of what's to come.
To celebrate the release, John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band will be joining Rick Springfield on his I Want My '80s tour. They will open some shows starting May 29th in St. Augustine, Florida.
