Yes covered a Beatles classic

Yes is well-known for their cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "America," so it's not surprising to learn that they also took on The Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby." The band gave the 1966 classic a progressive twist in February 1969 at Polydor Studios in London. Their unique take can now be heard on a recently surfaced recording on YouTube. Bootleg records collector Ian Hartley, who posted the song, mentioned that this recording had never been publicly released before. He shared the first (failed) take of the "Eleanor Rigby" run-throughs, noting that apart from some speed correction, no remastering was done to the master tapes.

The recording features the original lineup of Yes, including singer Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, drummer Bill Bruford, guitarist Peter Banks, and keyboardist Tony Kaye. According to the YesFans forum, there are three known studio recordings of Yes playing "Eleanor Rigby," but none have ever been officially released.

As for the current version of Yes, which includes none of the members from the "Eleanor Rigby" recording, they are busy working on a new album that they hope to release next year.
