Bob Dylan is having quite a week. Last Tuesday, he kicked off Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival in Phoenix with a setlist that had fans doing double takes. Not only did he dust off some of his own deep cuts, but he also threw in a few covers that hadn’t seen the light of day in ages.
Last Thursday, Dylan had made his way to Chula Vista, California, where he pulled a musical rabbit out of his harmonica case by covering Ricky Nelson’s “Garden Party.”The song literally name-drops Bob Dylan himself with the line: “Mr. Hughes hid in Dylan’s shoes.” “Mr. Hughes” was the alias George Harrison when he checked into hotels.
Good to see Bob Dylan out doing his thing on the road in 2025.
