Brian Wilson tributes pour in

Brian Wilson, the legendary co-founder of The Beach Boys, has been remembered with deep love and admiration by his bandmates, family, and fans around the world. In a heartfelt statement, The Beach Boys called Wilson “the soul of our sound,” crediting his visionary melodies and emotional depth with shaping not only their music but the very spirit of American pop. “Together, we gave the world the American dream of optimism, joy, and a sense of freedom,” the band wrote, honoring the man whose harmonies became the soundtrack of countless lives.

Wilson’s cousin and fellow Beach Boy, Mike Love, shared a touching tribute, reflecting on their complex but enduring bond. In a post accompanying the 1998 song “Brian’s Back,” Love wrote, “Our journey together was filled with moments of brilliance, heartbreak, laughter, complexity and most of all, LOVE.” He added, “Brian, you once asked, ‘Wouldn’t it be nice if we were older?’ Now you are timeless.” Former bandmate Al Jardine also paid tribute, recalling Wilson as a “humble giant” and a lifelong friend. Jardine expressed comfort in the thought that Wilson is now reunited with his brothers Carl and Dennis, singing harmonies once more.

Wilson’s daughters, Carnie and Wendy Wilson, shared emotional messages of loss and love. Carnie described her father as “every fiber of my body,” expressing a soul-deep connection that will never fade. “I’ve never felt this kind of pain before,” she wrote, imagining him playing piano in heaven for his mother, Audree. Wendy echoed the sentiment, saying, “I will miss him with all of my heart forever.” Brian Wilson was 82 and had been diagnosed with dementia last year. His passing marks the end of an era, as he becomes the third original Beach Boy to leave us, following Dennis in 1983 and Carl in 1998.
