Van Morrison is still rocking

Van Morrison has just released his 47th studio album, "Remembering Now," marking another milestone in a career that spans 58 years. The album is his 15th in the past 13 years and his first collection of original material since 2022’s ‘What’s It Gonna Take?.’ Known for his genre-blending style, Morrison’s latest is a mix of soul, jazz, blues, folk, and country.

When asked about the inspiration behind Remembering Now, Van said, “For want of a better word, it’s more like a psychic process or the other side of the brain process,” he explained. “The thought process comes in putting it together later on really. In the beginning, it’s just instinct, intuition, sometimes randomness. It’s not really a thought process. It’s more like being a receiver — one is a receiver and you're receiving info, ideas and concepts.”

The album features 14 tracks, including the already digitally released singles "Down to Joy," "Cutting Corners," and the title track "Remembering Now." Notably, “Down to Joy” first gained attention as part of the Oscar-winning film Belfast and now receives its official album debut. With contributions from longtime collaborators like Fiachra Trench and Don Black, and a band of seasoned musicians.  Remembering Now is being hailed by critics.
