John Fogerty is about to add another prestigious award to his already jam-packed trophy case. On September 8th, during a private event in Nashville, the legendary rocker will be honored with BMI's Troubadour Award. The award recognizes a songwriter whose influence runs deep and whose music continues to inspire generations. It’s a fitting tribute for a superstar whose songs have become part of the American musical fabric.
The Troubadour Award is a big honor, and Fogerty joins an elite group of past recipients including Billy Gibbons, John Hiatt, John Oates, John Prine, and Lucinda Williams. Since affiliating with BMI in 2005, Fogerty has racked up an impressive list of honors: he was named a BMI Icon in 2010, received the BMI Board of Directors Award in 2023, and earned a whopping 13 BMI Million-Air certificates. That means his songs have collectively been played over 64 million times on the radio.
Fogerty is getting ready to release Legacy, his upcoming album featuring 20 newly recorded versions of his biggest hits from his Creedence Clearwater Revival days. John will also make an appearance at our iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas next month.
