Jon Bon Jovi is shaking up the band’s setlists for their 2026 tour—and he’s taking cues from an unexpected source: Metallica. In a chat with Planet Rock, Jon said he was intrigued by Metallica’s M72 tour, where they played two nights in each city with zero repeat songs. That got him thinking.
He even called Lars Ulrich to ask if fans ever got upset missing songs like “Master of Puppets” or “One.” Lars told him nope—there are enough hits to go around. Then he pointed out Jon’s catalog is just as deep. “I’m digging that concept,” Jon said. While he’s not copying it exactly, he’s now playing with the idea of two totally different shows, both packed with fan favorites.
Bon Jovi will play nine shows at Madison Square Garden next 7th through 26th. The legendary band just released a new album, Forever (Legendary Edition), on October 24. It’s a star-studded reimagining of their 2024 release, featuring collaborations with Bruce Springsteen, Avril Lavigne, Joe Elliott, and more.
