Aerosmith is off and running this year on a catalog reissue campaign with Universal Music Group.The band’s self-titled debut album from 1973 is the first up for a huge re-release on March 20th.
That’s the album that gave us “Dream On,” “Mama Kin,” and “Walkin’ the Dog.” The centerpiece of the new issue will feature the original album remastered on 180-gram clear vinyl and an all-new 2024 mix that is pressed on translucent red. It also features previously unheard studio material which will be spread across even more vinyl and a 12” clear “UV cloud-effect” disc with a new version of “Dream On.”
There are also stickers packed in, along with a poster and hardcover book with never-before-seen photos and all-new interviews with all five members. The book will also feature comments from superstars like Dolly Parton, Slash, Corey Taylor (Slipknot), Mike McCready (Pearl Jam), Jerry Cantrell (Alice In Chains), Chris Robinson (The Black Crowes), Sully Erna (Godsmack), and more.
Bonus studio cuts include session takes and alternate versions of Train Kept A Rollin’” (Session Take), “Make It” (Rehearsal and Alternate Take), “Write Me a Letter” (Alternate Take), “Harmonica Bass Jam Jelly,” and “Joined at the Hip.”
Fans have been waiting for a few years and that wait is about to pay off in a big way this March.
