We’re just over a month into the new year and already Chrissie Hynde is restless. The rock n’ roll legend admits in a Facebook post that her life off the road is tougher than she expected. It’s difficult to change your routine after decades of traveling. Chrissie says touring isn’t just a job, it’s a rhythm, a pulse, a way of moving through the world that she genuinely misses. If she weren’t in a band, she jokes, she’d probably be one of those people following one across continents just to keep that feeling going.
Chrissie knows the value of taking a step back. She reminds fans that sometimes you’ve got to slow down, breathe, and recharge—whether you really want to or not. With no current tour plans for The Pretenders, Chrissie wonders who her fans are chasing in the meantime, offering both a tease: don’t get too comfortable, because the band misses everyone right back.
Chrissie is currently in England, and she says she’s struggling with a personal rule--saying no to selfies and autographs to maintain her touring discipline. The Pretenders’ last show was back in July 2025 in London, and maybe it won’t be too long before they hit the road again.
