The Grammy Hall of Fame is putting the spotlight Heart as their 1975 debut Dreamboat Annie earns its place among the newly announced inductees. It’s a fitting honor for the album that introduced the world to Ann and Nancy Wilson’s signature mix of big guitars, legendary vocals, and their signature songwriting. Dreamboat Annie included the monster hits “Magic Man” and “Crazy on You,” and the record helped carve out space for women in rock and roll at a time when the genre was dominated by men.
This year, Dreamboat Annie headlines a list of 14 new Grammy Hall of Fame inductees, including nine albums and five songs that have shaped music culture across decades. All honorees will be celebrated on May 8th at the Grammy Hall of Fame Gala, hosted by the Grammy Museum and the Recording Academy at the Beverly Hilton.
Among the other standout additions is Janet Jackson’s landmark album Rhythm Nation 1814, a project that fused sharp social commentary with Janet’s smooth pop and R&B grooves. With these new inductees, the Grammy Hall of Fame now boasts a total of 1,179 recordings that certainly left their mark on popular music.
