SXSW is next month in Austin and the long-awaited documentary on Los Lobos will hit the big screen. Los Lobos Native Sons will dive into the storied 50-year history of the band—from their early days in Los Angeles to their rise to nationwide fame with their version of the Ritchie Valens classic “La Bamba”—which became a #1 hit when it was featured in the soundtrack to the 80’s movie.
The documentary features several of music’s biggest stars including Linda Ronstadt, Tom Waits, Danny Elfman, Jackson Browne, Cheech Marin, Peter Frampton, George Lopez, and Bonnie Raitt, all sharing what Los Lobos has meant to them.
The world premiere is set for March 15th, with three additional screenings during the SXSW. There’s also a brand-new trailer posted to check out.
