The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation has revealed its 2026 nominees, and the spotlight is once again on Billy Idol, who’s back for his second shot at induction nearly two decades after first becoming eligible. Idol—eligible since 2007 thanks to his 1982 self‑titled debut—has long been championed by both fans and rock and roll legends. Two years ago, the late Ozzy Osbourne publicly declared that Idol should already be in the Hall, calling him “a rock icon” whose music is simply timeless.
When asked about Ozzy’s endorsement, Idol didn’t hold back. He called it “really lovely” and said that if he’s inducted, it won’t just be his honor—it’ll be the fans’ as well. “They’ve stuck with you through thick and thin… in some ways if I’m in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, they are,” he said.
Other nominees include first‑timers like Jeff Buckley, Melissa Etheridge, Lauryn Hill, P!NK, and Shakira, plus returning heavyweights like The Black Crowes, Sade, and Iron Maiden. Fans can vote daily for up to seven artists at Vote.RockHall.com, with official inductees announced in April. The Class of 2026 will take the stage this fall at the Induction Ceremony in Brooklyn, New York.
