U2 are wasting no time in 2026. Last Friday, the legendary band dropped Easter Lily EP, a six-track digital release. This was their second release this year after the Days of Ash EP on February 18th.
Bono says U2 have been “deep in the studio” chasing what he describes as a “noisy, messy, unreasonably colorful” album built for the stage, where they’ve always felt their most vibrant and alive. Bono frames their new songs as responses to what he calls the band’s collective “wilderness years.”. The title Easter Lily sends props to Patti Smith’s 1978 album Easter, which Bono says gave him hope as a teenager.
Same as the release of Days of Ash, this new EP is paired with a digital Propaganda fanzine, featuring lyrics, sleeve notes from The Edge, reflections on art and recovery from Adam Clayton, a conversation between Bono and Richard Rohr, along with in-studio photos by Larry Mullen Jr.
