The Rolling Stones are once again stirring things up after teasing a surprise show this Saturday under the name The Cockroaches. The gig is apparently tied to some really big news. The legendary band is gearing up to release its 25th studio album, reportedly titled Foreign Tongues along with a new single release this week.
The album’s title is a nod to The Stones’ iconic tongue-and-lips logo. Rumor has it the album will be released in June. Instead of touring last summer, The Stones spent time in the Metropolis Studios in West London to finish the album. Producer Andrew Watt, who also worked on Hackney Diamonds in 2023 joked that working with the band is “like working for Batman.” He added that secrecy really kicks in once “the tongue is up in the air." Ronnie Wood told The Sun that a new album is coming and confirmed, saying “it’s done.”
Mick Jagger revealed plenty was left in the vault during an interview back in 2023 after the release of Hackney Diamonds. That made a new album release a near certainty. Stones fans will get that new album early this summer.
