Peter Frampton is on his way back with Carry the Light, his first album of all-new original music in 16 years, dropping in May. A-listers are set to guest on the album, including Sheryl Crow, Graham Nash, and Tom Morello. The project marks a personal milestone for Frampton. He co-wrote and co-produced the album with son Julian Frampton — a collaboration he calls one of the most rewarding experiences of his career.
The latest release, “Lions at the Gate,” delivers a strong message and big guitars with Morello of Rage Against the Machine. Frampton says once the song came together, the choice was clear — Tom Morello was a perfect fit.
Frampton says Morello matched his lead guitar part note for note, which pushed him to come back even harder before the song’s finish. The result is a standout track on the album that really rocks. “Lions at the Gate” is streaming now. Carry the Light lands May 15th, and Frampton is unveiling 100 signed limited-edition Victrola turntables priced at $425 for collectors and his die-hard fans.
