Foreigner is celebrating their 50th anniversary with a brand-new version of their classic “Feels Like the First Time.” The updated version is the first single and video from Eye of the Storm, a new album celebrating the band’s shows last September on Ellis Island in New York Harbor and in Brooklyn.
The new version of “Feels Like the First Time” has a different sound to it. Original lead singer Lou Gramm joins with later-era singer Kelly Hansen and current vocalist Luis Maldonado on the song. This new version blends all the different eras of Foreigner into a new take on the classic.
The video for the song was shot on Ellis Island, and it mixes performance and archival footage from the band’s early years, focusing on founder and guitarist Mick Jones—now unable to perform due to Parkinson’s disease, along with Lou Gramm. Eye of the Storm will be out on July 17, with the concert film Foreigner – Live at Ellis Island is coming to theaters this summer.
