It looks like original Foreigner frontman Lou Gramm may have spoken too soon. Gramm recently said during an interview that band founder and guitarist Mick Jones was in the “end stages” of Parkinson’s disease. A source close to Jones says they’re not sure why Gramm would say that, stressing plainly that Jones is not on his deathbed.
Jones, who’s now 81, went public with his Parkinson’s diagnosis in February 2024, several years after first learning he had the disease. While it has forced him off the road, it hasn’t sidelined him entirely. His inability to tour is actually what opened the door for Lou Gramm to occasionally step back onstage with the band, something fans have welcomed despite the pair’s somewhat complicated history.
Gramm just wrapped up the final show of six Florida dates with Foreigner last Thursday. His next confirmed appearances with the band come next February aboard the Rock Legends Cruise out of Miami, and according to the band’s spokeswoman, Lou will also appear at select shows this summer on the Double Trouble Double Vision tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd. In the meantime, Lou kicks off a tour with his own band May 9 in Wabash, Indiana, supporting his new album, Released.
